We are delighted to have been nominated in the I Love Clarkston Community Awards as a Clarkston Community Champion!

Stephen Malloy received his nomination (made by members of the public) as a result of the work carried out by Eastwood Rotary within the East Renfrewshire area.

The Facebook page entry which advised us we had been nominated!

Being nominated is reward enough for us... and terrific publicity for the club. The winner will be announced at a special awards dinner on Friday 1st March.

Staff at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice were delighted to meet with our Past Presidents Margaret Macdonald and Ronnie Munn and receive a cheque for £5,000 to support the new building at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.

Fundraising activities included a Fashion Show and a Santa's Grotto as part of the Clarkston BID Christmas Event.

An 'at home' with PDG Alastair Denholm on Thursday 7th July raised funds for Rotary's own charity - the Rotary Foundation. A £15 a head entrance fee ensured members, family and friends a great night of eating, drinking and company. And Nester, the young guitarist from the Scottish Conservatoire, played some beautiful classical guitar to keep everyone entertained.

Our charity golf day at Whitecraigs Golf Club raised over £3,000 for our charities - Sense Scotland, East Renfrewshire Good Causes and the Erskine Hospital.

Winners on the day were Resource Telecom and our hearty congratulations go to them. The Turnkey Business Software team, with our own Steve Malloy playing, came in third! The other three players were obviously of a high standard!

Many thanks go to Whitecraigs Golf Club. The course was in magnificent condition and the catering was, as ever, excellent.

And finally, a big thank you to our main organiser of the day - Ronnie Munn. Steve knew that the Turnkey team were in the prizes when Ronnie started his presentation talk with the phrase "It really pains me to say this, but...".

Ronnie Munn - the golf day organiser.

Team Turnkey with (or despite) Steve Malloy came 3rd.

John Cameron of Team Turnkey lines up for his pitch onto the 18th green.

Our Antiques Valuation fundraiser for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow raised £1,243 after all costs were deducted.

A huge thank you is owed to Anita Manning and the team from Great Western Auctions for all of their hard work on the day and to the Eastwood Rotary Club team for manning the car park, the cafeteria and the valuation room and keeping the crowds in check!

And a final thanks to East Renfrewshire Council for the venue, the beautiful Eastwood House.
